Therapy or allergy treatments for my daughter?

Simply put.......another one of those choices you make as a parent. You give up things having kids. Most of us do. Not so many fancy restaurants or nights alone.

I was sure we were in a position for me to start therapy and spend the bucks needed. I was sure I could handle the guilt required to spend the money. Sure, we are insured. But still 40 bucks a session.

But my daughter got to the point where breathing was an issue. And these shots are 40 dollars a week. So there is no question. Even if the title of my post makes it seem like there was a question.

I will miss my therapist...we were getting places. You are allowed to be sad about these things without being a bad mom, right?

Yes, you are allowed to be sad.

Making sacrifices for your children is commendable, but never forget that you deserve to take care of yourself too. If you need to look at it from a mommy perspective, just keep in mind that your family benefits when your emotional and psychological states are balanced (and, conversely, pays a price when they are not).

I hope you can find a way, perhaps, to deviate funds from somewhere else and continue your therapy. I've used counseling services in the past, so I understand the value of it.

Very well said and I thank you for your comments. You are right that my family benefits from my therapy. My husband says he notices a lot less anger coming from me....and I am coping better. I will just have to wait and see. When my daughter can barely breathe, like today, it seems the choices are made for me. Thank you for posting.

My mom's allergies were cured with a chiropractor. You might look in your area and see if there is some that specializes in allergies.
That would be cheaper than the shots and then you would get to still have *your time* too.

We have to take care of ourselves so that we can be good moms.
Take care of yourself.
